Is an apple application that works for ipads and macs, it
combines handwritten notes, drawings, photos, and recordings. My favorite part
of this is that it lets you write directly on top PowerPoints and then it lets
you email the notes. This works a little
bit like the livescribe pen (see post #1), unlike it the notability app does not need to be
charged and does not depend on having a notebook. I don’t see any additional
functions outside of those that it shares with livescribe as a teacher but I think
it does have extra function for students. Like is said you can write directly
on top of PowerPoints as well as other document types. In addition it also lets
you add extra pages in between. I like the idea of PowerPoints for the
classroom when teaching non math subjects, however, I do feel like they are not
extremely engaging. I have seen teachers who give students their PowerPoint
with blanks on them and I think it is a great idea. Fill in the blank
powerpoints makes it so that students need to show up to class as well as
actively listen. The reason I went on this ramble is that notability works
great for this type use.

I think using a powerpoint where you can write during the lesson is great! It adds more interest to what is being discussed.

ReplyDeleteNotability sounds like a great app, especially because it seems like more and more people have apple products. I have never used it before, but I have had experience with the live scribe pen and the fact that you do not need a special notebook is great. I also think this is more for students though, especially with the ability to right over power points and add notes.
